Chris Stanford

Chris is a long serving dj on London’s underground scene, having held many a residency since his first appearances in the clubs a decade ago, back in 2004. He’s played pretty much anywhere worth mentioning in the city and is often called upon to support when a techno legend is in town. His cool tempered attitude yet, confident approach to sets with his natural ability, to tease crowds of 200 to 2000. This has gained his respect with the local partygoers over the years who regularly attend his Jaded, where he plays with some of the worlds finest techno acts and is noticed for his epic closing sets. His addiction to the turntables is noticeable and the longer the set, the better, in his eyes.

Along with Gareth Wild, Chris launched the EarToGround project back in 2010 and not long after helped shape the party brand into the label ready for it’s first release, where alongside studio partner Dax J he created the deep sensations of “Programm” the first original 12” which saw remixes from fellow London based techno heads “Shifted” and “Truss”. Following that single “Chris Stanford & Dax J” re-appear on ETG003 with another original piece, the hard hitting “Kommand” this time with a remix from Manchesters, “AnD”. Again he appears on ETG005 with Dax J with their huge memorable synthline in Synchronize. Chris & Dax also feature on ETG vinyl 007 with “Moonraker” which comes with remix treatment from Ostgut Tons, Ryan Elliott . As well ETG, Chris has releases and remixes out on labels like Falkplatz, Tact and his own imprint Quant which in its early days has already seen original music and remixes from artists Hector Oaks, Nikola Gala, Mutecell, Urbano, Hans Bouffmyhre, The Plant Worker, I/Y and more.

2014 has seen Chris team up with a long time friend from London Andrew Wright as their new alias project Mirrorpress, their first release together “Red Wires” feature on a VA vinyl only EP on the credible LDNwht label with tracks from Inigo Kennedy, Oliver Deutschmann and Antonio De Angelis. There will be a full ep forthcoming on the Mirrorpress namesake wax only label very soon.

Still a key head on EarToGround, owner of Quant means lots of discovering new artists and forward thinking techno, displayed with much new music each time he plays. Asides with this his heavy involvement and dedication to his residency at Corsica Studios for Jaded keeps Chris very busy and consistently pushing forward.
